10th individual European medal for G. TZANOS

European feat by the emperor of Greek karate George Giannos.

G. Tzanos won the Bronze Medal at the 56th European Championship in Croatia.
The leader of our National Team won the 10th individual European medal in his career. This time he competed in the difficult category of +84 kg, writing history, as he is one of the few athletes in the world with such a big record.

Apart from +84 kg, Janos has previously won medals in the -75 and -84 kg categories, proving his huge racing class in all the categories he competed in.
In the Croatian championship, Janos defeated Vegim (Fyrom), Tanas (Romania) and the very strong Croatian Andjelo Kvesic, respectively.
In the semifinals, they drew 1-1 with the German World Champion of 2018, Jonathan Horne, losing the flags and the decision of the judges.
In the small final, Janos defeated the Polish Gebka Maciej.

The world champion Dimitris Triantafyllis, former athlete, coach and brotherly friend of Tzanos, who stood by George until the last second, also played an important role

It is worth noting that G. Tzanos a year ago, suffered a total rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament returning to his first event, stronger than ever.
