G. Tzanos was once again in the big final of the European Championship, winning the silver medal, this time in the +84 kg heavyweight category.
G. Tzanos successively beat the Romanian athlete 8-0, the very strong Bosnian athlete 2-1, the Croatian athlete with score 1-0 ( Tzanos beats Croatian athlete Kvesic in his hometown in 2021 and he won the bronze ) and in the semi-final he beat the Turkish athlete with 2-0 score . In the final he faced the French athlete and current world champion , where in a disputed match he lost the gold medal in the details. This medal is the 11th individual title of G. Tzanos, in the European Men's Championship, creating an incredible record, which will be very difficult to break.
Tzanos is almost the only athlete in the world who was in European finals of 3 different categories .
